Darren Hill looks back with pride, while moving forward with purpose
2024 marked an extraordinary year for Bramling Workshops, comprising DBSJ, Denne Joinery and Design I.D. Across the board, it was a period of record-breaking growth, phenomenal project successes and, most importantly, zero accidents on site.
For me personally and professionally, 2024 will remain an exceptional year, a time when our internal achievements were echoed and validated by independent bodies across the whole country.
Among the highlights, DBSJ was honoured to be named Specialist Fit-Out Contractor of the Year at the Construction News Awards. This recognition meant a great deal to the team, and it was soon followed by another moment of pride: our inclusion in The Sunday Times 100 list of the UK’s fastest-growing private companies.
To not only make the list but to be placed in the top 20 and be named the fastest-growing construction business in the country was beyond expectations. I’ve long admired The Sunday Times as a respected publication, so attending the awards ceremony with Rebecca Pearson and seeing DBSJ recognised at this level was genuinely a lifetime highlight.
This recognition has already had a tangible impact, reinforcing our credibility within the industry, opening new doors for collaboration and even leading to external investment enquiries. The networking evening that followed introduced us to new customers, potential supply chain partners and dynamic businesses we’re excited to work with.
We’ve chosen not to enter the list for 2025, as we focus on other strategic goals, but we fully intend to return in 2026 with even more momentum behind us.
At the heart of all this success are the people: our team, our customers and our trusted supply chain partners. Achieving these milestones has only been possible because of your talent, trust and commitment. On behalf of the shareholders, thank you for making us incredibly proud!
Together, let’s keep growing with purpose and delivering excellence.
