Bespoke Joinery
At DBSJ, our highly skilled and fully trained tradespeople create bespoke, hard-wearing joinery items from our fully-equipped manufacturing facility in Canterbury.

Previously known as DB Specialist Joinery, we expanded the company in 2022 to provide technical design and fit-out services to complement our joinery offering and rebranded to DBSJ.

Our talented joiners have extensive experience working with domestic and corporate clients across the UK. They are highly versatile and competent in working with a wide range of materials befitting your project, including hardwoods, veneers, softwoods, MDF, laminates, steel, glass, upholstery and solid surfaces such as Corian, Hi-Mac, Staron, Avonite and Meganite.

With full in-house design capabilities, our joinery management team work closely with our clients to evolve their concepts into working manufacturing CAD drawings tailored to their specific needs. We also have extensive experience with 3D design software and can provide photo-realistic visuals to help with the sign-off process.

Our on-site joinery workshop also means our clients can benefit from UK manufacturing, quick sample production and rapid turnaround times.

Conservation and Heritage Joinery
Conservation joinery and heritage joinery are specialist woodworking techniques used to restore and preserve historic buildings and structures. We have plenty of experience in this area and are passionate about respecting the history and architecture of the building we work in for future generations.

When working on a building within a Conservation Area or Listed Building, we will work closely with a conservation officer to retain the characteristics of the original building and get planning permission from the local authority. We aim to preserve as much of the original material as possible by repairing and reinforcing existing components. Where this is not possible, we use historically accurate materials, which may involve sourcing reclaimed or salvaged wood from the same era.
